Privacy Policy

Last updated October 13, 2026

The short version. Parking Floor Finder works on your iPhone. There's no account and no server keeping your drives or your location history. Nothing about your drives leaves the phone unless you turn on Share drive logs, which sends diagnostic logs to us to help fix detection problems. We don't sell data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

This policy covers the Parking Floor Finder iPhone app (shown on the Home Screen as "Parking Floor") and this website. Both are run by VIVOA LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we", "us"). Questions go to support@parkingfloorfinder.com.

What the app keeps on your iPhone

To work out which floor you parked on, the app uses your iPhone's sensors and keeps the results in the app's own storage on the phone. None of this is sent to us.

WhatWhy
Barometer and motion readings (with the Motion & Fitness permission)To measure how far you climbed from the street and notice when you're driving, stopping and walking.
Location while you drive, and your garages' locations (with the Location permission)To notice a drive starting, find the street level in it, and recognise garages you've parked in before. Precise location runs only while you drive with your car connected. Apart from the recent drive logs below, the app saves your garages' locations, not a history of where you've been.
Your cars: the names you give them and their Bluetooth or CarPlay identitySo only your own car's engine switching off counts as parking.
Your parkings: garage, floor and timeTo show your floor, your History, and to learn each garage's floor height.
An event log and a sensor log for recent drives, including GPS readingsSo you (and, if you choose to share them, we) can see why a drive was or wasn't recorded.

Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What leaves your iPhone

Share drive logs (only if you turn it on)

The app has a Share drive logs switch in Settings. In the App Store version it is off until you say yes. Beta versions installed through Apple's TestFlight turn it on from the first launch, say so on the home screen, and let you turn it off with one tap.

While it's on, the app sends these to us through Sentry, a service that collects app diagnostics on our behalf:

Your phone is identified only by a random ID created by the app, shown in Settings ▸ Drive logs. The app doesn't send your name, email, contacts, device name or advertising identifier, and tells Sentry not to store your IP address (Sentry may use it to note the approximate city an upload came from, then discards it).

Send diagnostics now, also in Settings, sends the event log and your last three drives once, even with sharing off. Tapping it is your consent for that one send.

We use these logs only to find and fix problems with floor detection. Sentry deletes them automatically after its retention period, at most 90 days. You can turn sharing off at any time, and ask us to delete what was already sent (see Your choices).

Apple Maps

To name a new garage, find parking places near where you stopped, or search for a garage you type in, the app asks Apple Maps, which receives the location or search text. Apple handles it under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Ground elevation

For a garage it hasn't seen before, the app may look up the ground elevation at the garage's coordinates to suggest a floor. That request sends only the coordinates, to the U.S. Geological Survey's elevation service or, outside its coverage, to Open-Meteo. Nothing else goes with it.

Apple

If you've allowed it in your iPhone's settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us through App Store Connect. These come to us anonymous and aggregated.

This website

The site doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

Both forms are delivered to us through Formspree. The site's hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security, for a short time.

What we don't do

Besides the services named above, we share information only if the law requires it.

Your choices

Children

The app is meant for drivers. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Data on your iPhone is protected by iOS and its encryption. Logs you share travel encrypted (HTTPS) and are kept in an access-controlled Sentry account that only the developers can see.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the app collects or sends, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change ships, and mention it in the app's release notes.
